Job Description

Are you an aspiring management consultant ready to ignite your career by supporting companies working with energy, the green transition, and ambitious sustainability journeys?

Implement Consulting Group’s Energy & Climate team is growing, and we’re now looking for the brightest and most passionate students to join our team to help companies transform and build a more sustainable future.

What you’ll do
The content of your work depends on your profile and interests, as we want you to take ownership of your own career path. However, you can expect to be involved in projects ranging from supporting the execution of sustainable strategies to developing solutions for the energy sector and assisting actors in various elements of the green transition value chain (e.g., CCUS, Wind, E-Mobility, PtX).

Our work is centred on helping companies tackle some of their most difficult strategic challenges and deliver outstanding insights to support effective decision-making. Some of the challenges we help companies with include:

  • Building new or transforming existing business models based on quantitative and qualitative insights, including new go-to-market strategies within the energy and green transition spaces
  • Supporting energy companies, developers, suppliers, and investors to drive the switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy
  • Advising companies on sustainability strategies including carbon emissions targets, decarbonisation roadmaps, advice in Sustainability M&A (EGSDD), and strategic advice on sustainability initiatives (across all elements of ESG)
  • Supporting project developers and owners in various aspects of strategy and project development, particularly within CCUS, wind, and e-mobility
  • Working with public and international bodies and governments advising on policy, support, and green transition insights
  • Conducting business cases and regulatory impact assessments for both private and public clients
  • Helping green project developers apply for funding e.g., from the EU Innovation Fund

Your areas of responsibility will, of course, depend on your profile and the projects you are involved in. As you gain experience, greater responsibility will follow. Your tasks will mainly focus on external client engagements, carried out in close collaboration with colleagues. In these projects, your responsibilities may range from analytical assignments to preparing and facilitating workshops, as well as driving independent work. You will also have the opportunity to take on internal responsibilities, such as culture-building activities, new initiatives, support in sales, and internal knowledge development.

We expect the workload to be approximately 15–25 hours per week, depending on project staffing needs and internal requirements. However, we encourage our students to prioritise their studies, and we know very well that there will be times when you’re occupied with exams. You’ll be working from our offices in Hellerup or Østerbro in Copenhagen, from home, or at client sites.

What you’ll bring
First and foremost, we’re looking for students who identify as strategic thinkers, nerds, and/or activists – and who are driven by passion. Whether you’re a brainstorming champion, can perform an economic valuation on the back of a napkin, can recite your business model canvas in your sleep, build rock-solid Excel models and killer presentations, analyse economic regulation, or simply have an innate and deep curiosity that will take you to the next level, we would love to hear from you.

Secondly, we’re looking for a junior consultant who:

  • Is studying business, finance, economics, and/or engineering with an excellent academic record (candidates with modules, projects, or degrees relevant to energy or sustainability are particularly encouraged to apply)
  • Additional work experience within a relevant field is an advantage
  • Is in the final year of their bachelor’s degree or has a minimum of 1.5 years left of their master’s degree
  • Has a commercial mindset and strong numerical and qualitative analytical skills combined with an empathetic, entrepreneurial and curious mind
  • Is open-minded, prepared for a steep learning curve and thrives on working with sustainability topics and contributing to the green transition
  • Is fluent in written and spoken English; Danish is an advantage

As a truly people-centric consultancy, we expect you to be a great team player while also being comfortable working independently.

What we offer
Our goal is to be the best place for the best people. Which is why we attach great importance to personal and professional development. Most of your learning will come from the work you do on projects, and we offer an instructive, relevant and versatile job, where you’ll become familiar with management consulting through client projects and by working closely with experienced colleagues.

When you have completed your studies, and assuming you are a good fit for the Energy & Climate practice, there is a chance of permanent employment as a full-time consultant.
