Humanitarian Policy Advisor (Humanitarian Sector, Copenhagen)

Job summary

This role involves leading policy initiatives in health for humanitarian contexts, focusing on non-communicable diseases and mental health support, while advancing policy priorities in Europe and Asia.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of relevant policy experience, ideally in the humanitarian sector.
• Strong understanding of the health policy landscape.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to independently drive a policy agenda.
• Relevant academic background in fields such as international relations, public policy, sociology, or public health.
• Excellent analytical and drafting skills to convey complex humanitarian issues into clear policy messages.
• Familiarity with the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is beneficial.
• Operational experience in the humanitarian sector is preferred.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Danish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead health policy engagement for the International Department, collaborating with health teams and policy colleagues.
• Support efforts to ensure access to care for non-communicable diseases and mental health services in humanitarian settings.
• Advance organizational policy priorities with a focus on preparedness in Europe and Asia.
