We are looking for an Automated QA Engineer who enjoys building reliable automated testing systems and writing tests regularly as part of their day-to-day work.
This is a hands-on engineering role where most of your time will be spent designing, writing and maintaining automated tests.
You’ll help strengthen our automated testing capabilities, improve test reliability, and expand coverage across the platform. In addition to contributing technically, you’ll help shape how we approach automation within the team and support the development of our testing practices.

📍 Location: Remote (Denmark) – Copenhagen area preferred
💼 Reports to: QA Manager
Job Type: Full-time
💰 Compensation: 45,320 kr – 53,850 kr / month

💙 You are passionate about combining automation with quality engineering to deliver reliable, scalable products.
💡 You have strong hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test suites, ideally using Playwright or similar automation framework.
🤖 You are comfortable working in JavaScript or TypeScript environments and see automated testing as an engineering discipline rather than simply replacing manual testing.
🧪 You enjoy debugging test failures, investigating issues, and improving test stability over time.
📊 You understand the importance of well-structured test coverage and thoughtful test design, not just writing scripts.
🎯 You thrive in a hands-on environment where you actively write and maintain automated tests, while also helping improve team practices.
🎨 You collaborate seamlessly with software engineers, product managers, and QA teammates to ensure smooth rollout of new features and improvements.
🚀 You are motivated by continuous optimization—streamlining workflows, reducing manual effort, and increasing engineering velocity.

📌What You’ll Do

This role is primarily hands-on, with most of your time spent writing and maintaining automated tests.
  • Build, maintain, and scale automated test suites using Playwright (primary automation tool).
  • Convert manual test cases into well-structured automated tests to expand regression coverage and reduce repetitive testing.
  • Organize and maintain test cases in Qase, ensuring clear structure, traceability, and alignment with product specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with the QA and engineering teams to define test strategy, automation priorities, and acceptance criteria.
  • Design and execute end-to-end automated tests across key user journeys, ensuring reliable detection of regressions.
  • Integrate automated tests into our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) to improve release reliability and testing speed.
  • Identify, track, and document bugs with structured reports, ensuring engineers have everything needed for fast resolution.
  • Analyze recurring issues and propose long-term automation or process improvements to reduce future bug volume.
  • Participate in spec reviews, early feature planning, and risk assessment to ensure testability and clarity.
  • Help shape and improve our automation practices, sharing knowledge and supporting the development of more junior team members.

🎯What You Bring

  •  Strong understanding of QA fundamentals and automation best practices.
  •  Hands-on experience with Playwright (required).
  •  Experience using Qase or another test case management tool.
  •  Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions a plus).
  •  Ability to write stable, maintainable automated tests in JavaScript/TypeScript.
  •  Experience validating APIs, browser flows, and cross-platform behaviors.
  •  Strong sense of ownership—you drive automation coverage and continuously refine test processes.
  •  Excellent communication skills—you create clear, structured bug reports and collaborate effectively across teams.
  •  Experience working in Agile or fast-moving SaaS environments.
  •  A detail-oriented, investigative mindset—able to uncover edge cases others may overlook.
  •  Experience balancing manual and automated testing when appropriate.
  • Familiarity with modern development tools—including AI-assisted tools for productivity—while maintaining strong hands-on engineering judgment.
