Are you passionate about building food safety standards and driving product quality? We are looking for someone with strong technical experience to drive food safety and quality compliance, supporting the Nordics market while contributing to food safety excellence across HelloFresh internationally.
Our Food Safety & Quality Assurance team is recruiting an experienced and highly driven FSQA Manager, based in the Nordics (Copenhagen office), to support our growing local ingredient sourcing strategy while also contributing to our international protein FSQA agenda.
This role has a clear Nordics focus, with approximately 50% of your time dedicated to acting as the FSQA Point of Contact (POC) for the Nordic Local Sourcing Team. In this capacity, you will be the key bridge between the Nordic product/sourcing teams and the International FSQA organization, enabling safe and fast innovation through the New Ingredient process.
The remaining 50% of the role will focus on international PTN FSQA topics, including supplier approval, audits, performance management, and continuous improvement across our broader supplier base.
You will work closely with Nordic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, and DC teams, while also collaborating with FSQA colleagues and stakeholders across Europe. The role combines hands-on supplier engagement with strategic FSQA projects, ensuring robust food safety standards and consistent product quality for our customers.
What you’ll do
Nordics Local Ingredient Sourcing & New Ingredient Enablement (≈50%)
- Act as the FSQA POC between the Nordic Local Sourcing Team and International FSQA for all New Ingredients.
- Serve as the FSQA Enabler for New Ingredients: accountable for providing visibility to the local sourcing team on FSQA progress and alignment, while the International FSQA Category Manager retains final product accountability.
- Consolidate New Ingredient updates, track progress, and communicate status, risks, and timelines to markets during governance meetings.
- Act as the FSQA business partner for the Nordic product and sourcing teams, providing hands-on food safety and quality input into commercial and sourcing decisions.
- Identify and mitigate food safety and quality risks in close collaboration with FSQA peers, sourcing, suppliers, and operational teams.
- Provide pragmatic FSQA guidance that enables speed to market without compromising food safety or quality.
International FSQA Scope (≈50%)
- Lead supplier approval, audits, onboarding, and ongoing performance management for your supplier portfolio within the red meat(beef and swine) category.
- Drive risk assessments, specifications, and shelf-life validations for ingredients in your scope.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and complaint reduction across the supply base.
- Establish and embed standardised FSQA ways of working across markets.
- Investigate and manage quality incidents through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Own and track key FSQA performance indicators related to compliance and quality.
What you’ll bring
- 4 years + experience of a quality/food safety management role in the food industry
- Experience within the meat industry is highly desirable
- Experience of auditing food manufacturers required
- Additional food quality & safety qualifications highly desirable (e.g. HACCP, internal auditing)
- Excellent English skills required
- Willingness to travel (some overseas travel may be required) and spend 50% of your time at suppliers, distribution centres and the office where you will be based.
- Strong in communication and negotiation skills. Adept at pragmatic approaches to solving time sensitive issues
- Willing and practiced in decision making; stays calm even in challenging situations
- Energised working in a fast paced environment; ability to multitask with different and competing workstreams
- Willing to work with suppliers and teams based across Hello Fresh markets in the UK, DACH, France, Nordics and BNL.
- Intermediate/Advanced Google Suite Skills (G-sheets/MS Excel, G-doc/Word, and G-slides/PowerPoint) skills
