Summary:
The Military and Family Readiness Instructor/Trainer Manager (MFRT Manager) is responsible for delivering, managing, and overseeing high-quality instruction for National Guard Military and Family Readiness (MFR) staff. This role supports both virtual and in-person training environments and applies established instructional design methodologies to ensure effective adult learning outcomes.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop, manage, and deliver engaging instructional content for classroom, virtual, and blended learning environments
- Facilitate adult learning using proven instructional techniques and learner-centered methodologies
- Conduct training evaluations using written instruments, performance-based assessments, and survey tools
- Ensure virtual and in-person classrooms meet safety, security, comfort, and hygiene standards
- Interpret standing operating procedures, policy guidance, and program directives to ensure compliant instruction
- Support instruction related to National Guard Military and Family Readiness programs, including Financial Readiness and Education, Employment Assistance, and Transition Assistance Programs
- Coordinate instructional activities across Army National Guard (ARNG) and Air National Guard (ANG) structures at the state level
- Employ instructional software and authoring tools to enhance training effectiveness
- Maintain organized training documentation, schedules, and instructional materials
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Shall have expert analytical, communication, and research skills, and a successful track record of creating and delivering engaging course materials for both classroom and online instruction
- Shall be familiar with all Microsoft Office products, including SharePoint and TEAMS, and be proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of software authoring tools (Captivate, Articulate, Presenter or Moodle), and familiarity with the Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model and Kirkpatrick's approach to learning and training evaluation and experience working with adult learners.
- A strong understanding of NG Military and Family Readiness programs, Financial
- Readiness and Education programs, Employment Assistance Programs, Transition Assistance Program and the ANG and ARNG structure at the state level
- Interpersonal skills and team building skills to effectively take part in instructional duties for National Guard Military and Family Readiness Program staff instruction
- Knowledge of standing operating procedures and the ability to interpret guidance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Teams, Forms, Power Point, Excel, Word
- Shall ensure virtual and in-person classrooms meet safety, security, comfort, and hygiene standards
- Strong organizational skills
- All applicants shall possess interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field of instructional design, curriculum and instruction, education (with a focus on curriculum and instruction), or equivalent field and have at least three years of experience in adult instruction to include the application of Instructional Systems Design (ISD), execution of job task analyses, design and development of training curricula, course materials, training 12 evaluation systems and instruments, and instructing/facilitating classroom training for adult learners
- In the absence of a Bachelor’s Degree, MFRTs shall have a combination of ten years of education and experience in adult instruction to include the application of ISD, execution of job task analyses, design and development of training curricula, course materials, training evaluation systems and instruments, and instructing/facilitating classroom training for adult learners
- Within 180 days of hire date, each MFRT shall be certified to instruct and administer at least one type of psychometric test relevant to SFRS trainings that may include, but is not limited to the following: Four Lenses, Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI), and Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation – Behavior (FIRO-B). Any certification costs shall be included in the contractor’s firm-fixed price
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and must be able to drive a rental car
- Be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience delivering training in support of National Guard, DoD, or Military & Family Readiness programs
Pay and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $70,000.00 to $100,00.00 annually
