The Role and Department

Global Procurement is a key enabler of Genmab’s strategic transformation - supporting speed, operational efficiency, and financial performance. As Genmab scales and accelerates its pipeline, Procurement plays a pivotal role in driving time-to-market for new therapies through optimized sourcing strategies, digital solutions, and strategic partnerships. Our vision is to build a best-in-class, data-driven procurement organization that supports the fast-moving and complex needs of a global biotech leader.

We are looking to add a new Associate Director, Category Lead, Global Procurement Tech Ops to the team.


In this role, you will play a key role in shaping and executing strategic sourcing initiatives within the Technical Operations (Tech Ops) area. You will be responsible for developing category strategies, leading supplier negotiations, and managing end-to-end procurement processes. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will ensure that sourcing activities align with business needs while delivering cost efficiencies, compliance, and value.

You will join a Global Procurement team and report to the Senior Director, Global Procurement, Tech Ops. The position is an onsite position in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Responsibilities
Category Strategy Development

  • Define and implement sourcing strategies for the Tech Ops categories.
  • Analyze internal demand and external market trends to set long-term category direction.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, supplier consolidation, and value generation.

Supplier Management

  • Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and performance management.
  • Build strong relationships with strategic suppliers.
  • Monitor KPIs and SLAs, conduct regular reviews, and manage risk.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs.
  • Act as a trusted partner to business units on sourcing and commercial matters.
  • Align procurement strategies with business objectives.

RFPs and Contract Management

  • Prepare and run (RFP, RFI) processes.
  • Evaluate bids and conduct negotiations.
  • Manage contracts from creation to execution, ensuring compliance and tracking milestones.

Spend Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze category spend, identify trends, and track savings.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on category performance.
  • Utilize procurement tools and dashboards for visibility and decision-making.
  • Support ad hoc procurement projects across the organization.
  • Contribute to cross-category initiatives, including process improvements and supplier evaluations.
  • Assist other category teams as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 8+ years of industry related experience, with significant exposure to outsourced pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of category management and strategic sourcing.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute category strategies.
  • Skilled negotiator with experience securing commercially valuable agreements.
  • Experience working in global and virtual cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in spend analysis, market insight interpretation, and supplier performance management.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement skills across functions and geographies.
  • Proficiency in e-procurement platforms (SAP, Coupa, or similar).
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written.
