Are you driven by measurable impact and operational excellence? Step into a key role accelerating performance in Drug Substance Manufacturing as our experienced Continuous Improvement Partner.

In this role, you’ll coach teams in Lean and PDCA/A3, embed Shingo-aligned behaviors, and lead Kaizen to deliver improvements in cycle time, quality, waste, and cost within a cGMP environment. You’ll align Continuous Improvement initiatives with Drug Substance Manufacturing priorities, standardize ways of working, and sustain results through robust daily management.

Join FLBD—a high-growth, mission-driven CDMO—to enhance capability, optimize capacity, and sustain performance, with competitive compensation and strong development opportunities.

About the role
As a Continuous Improvement (CI) Partner in the Operational Excellence (OpEx) team supporting Drug Substance Manufacturing (DSM), you will enable efficient operations, reduce waste, visual and performance management incl. board structures and strengthen problem‑solving across the value stream. You will embed CI methods through coaching, workshops, and hands‑on support, anchored in the Shingo Guiding Principles, to standardize systems, processes and drive sustainable improvement in a cGMP environment. Your work will align CI efforts with DSM and site priorities to deliver measurable impact.

What you’ll do

  • Coach frontline teams and managers in Visual Management and CI (Lean and PDCA/A3) to improve flow, quality, cost, and cycle time.
  • Lead Kaizen, RCA, and value stream mapping; turn insights into standard work and daily routines.
  • Equip DSM teams with practical CI tools to drive their own improvements.
  • Partner with operations to find waste, implement solutions, and sustain results.
  • Align CI initiatives with DSM/site strategy, priorities, and cGMP requirements.
  • Track impact (cycle time, waste, RFT, cost savings/avoidance) and report through governance.
  • Embed CI best practices into daily and visual management.
  • Lead OpEx projects to improve systems, processes, and ways of working across DSM.
  • Drive DSM governance and stakeholder engagement; represent DSM on capacity initiatives (e.g., thaw rate, changeover).
  • Support additional improvement activities as needed.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific/engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Hands‑on CI/Lean experience with a track record of practical implementation in operations (cGMP exposure strongly preferred).
  • Proven facilitation skills (Kaizen, RCA workshops) and experience training/coaching at all levels.
  • Data‑driven problem‑solving skills; able to analyze, visualize, and communicate insights clearly.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience applying the Shingo Guiding Principles (e.g., lead with humility, respect every individual, focus on process, assure quality at the source) to shape systems and behaviors—not just deploy tools.

Nice to have

  • Lean/Six Sigma certification (Green/Black Belt).
  • Experience deploying Daily/Visual Management and standard work in regulated operations.
  • Familiarity with capacity optimization, SMED/changeover reduction, and end‑to‑end value stream design.
  • Proficiency with analytics/visualization tools for CI performance tracking.

The team
We’re a diverse and multicultural team of 27 employees, spanning from an always-on Operational Control Center (24/7), Operational Excellence, and a PMO with CI partners, interns, and student assistants. We thrive on high-impact deliveries in a fast-paced environment—balanced by humor, support, and a genuine team spirit. Expect ownership, collaboration, and real growth.

Your application
Please submit your CV and Cover letter describing a CI initiative you led (problem, approach, measurable impact).
Deadline is 12 April 2026 but applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis so please apply sooner rather than later.
