The Head of Enterprise Architecture (HEA) is responsible for defining and leading the strategic direction of Enterprise Architecture, translating business priorities into clear architectural principles, target-state frameworks, and transformation roadmaps. The role drives the design and implementation of key enterprise-wide initiatives, while operational execution is delivered through dedicated delivery and technology teams.
Define and own the Enterprise Architecture (HEA) strategy (provides input to IT strategy), ensuring alignment with business objectives, digital transformation priorities, and long-term scalability.
Lead strategic architecture initiatives and transformation programs, from concept through implementation, ensuring coherence across platforms, processes, and capabilities.
Act as a strategic partner to senior business and IT leadership, providing architectural guidance, challenge, and decision support.
Establish and govern architecture standards, principles, decision forums, and target-state designs, enabling consistency while allowing for business agility.
Drive enterprise capability and technology roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business priorities and investment decisions.
Support portfolio prioritization and trade-off decisions, providing architectural input to maximize value and manage complexity.
Ensure effective collaboration and clear interfaces between strategic architecture and operational execution teams.
Track progress and impact through architecture KPIs and business metrics, adjusting direction as needed to maximize value.
Head a team of domain architects (5-10) who will develop technology roadmaps, advice on more concrete architectural questions in relation to their individual strategic platform responsibilities, etc
EDUCATION, LANGUAGE AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
10 or more years of professional experience in enterprise-scale environments, including strategic planning, operating model design, and/or business analysis.
Proven experience across multiple enterprise architecture disciplines, such as business, information, solution, or technical architecture, application development, integration/middleware, data management, or operations in complex, multi-tier environments.
Experience working with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, influencing decisions at enterprise level.
Experience in global and matrix organizations and in leading or contributing to large-scale transformation initiatives.
Fluent English required; additional languages are a plus.

Business and technology ecosystems (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, SOA, APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, data and analytics)
Business, operating, and financial models, including cost-benefit analysis and risk management
Enterprise architecture principles, EA and IT frameworks, IT service management, and SDLC
Agile and lean methodologies, including enterprise-scale agile frameworks
Information management practices, infrastructure & operations, and security architecture
Knowledge on working in different industries, preferably one of them being similar to industrial manufacturing

Ability to be pragmatic when needed, and stay firm if required as well (balancing act)
TRAVEL
Occasional travel is expected but more intense during large transformation initiatives and M&As
