About the role
This role is responsible for managing the procurement of complex purchase orders while also providing guidance and support to less experienced colleagues.
In addition, the position involves partial responsibility for monitoring and overseeing the overall open purchasing backlog, as well as supporting both internal and external escalation processes.
About the department
The EMEA Service Procurement department consists of three sub-functions: Purchasing, Logistics, and Expediting. The department manages all service and aftermarket orders for customers across the EMEA region.
The team operates across two locations: Copenhagen, Denmark, and Chennai, India. The purchasing team is based in Chennai, while the strategic procurement function is located in Copenhagen.
Your Responsibilities :
Manage and execute complex service and aftermarket purchase orders across the EMEA region, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery
Act as a key point of contact for procurement-related matters, taking ownership of issues and driving them through to resolution
Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing to less experienced colleagues, supporting their development and ensuring high team performance
Monitor, analyze, and prioritize the open purchasing backlog, proactively identifying risks and bottlenecks and taking corrective actions to maintain delivery commitments
Lead and support escalation handling by coordinating with internal stakeholders (e.g., Logistics, Expediting, Customer Service) and external suppliers to resolve supply and delivery challenges
Build and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability, responsiveness, and performance
Collaborate cross-functionally to align on priorities, improve processes, and ensure smooth end-to-end order execution
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within procurement, including process optimization, efficiency improvements, and best practice sharing
Participate actively in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities, including performance reviews, follow-ups, and development of key suppliers
Support reporting and tracking of procurement KPIs, ensuring transparency and data-driven decision-making
You bring
Solid experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably within a service, aftermarket, or spare parts environment
Strong understanding of procurement processes, order lifecycle management, and supplier relationship management practices
Demonstrated ability to manage complex and high-volume order flows in a structured and detail-oriented manner
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively across functions, cultures, and geographies
A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a strong sense of ownership and the confidence to handle escalations and challenging situations
Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support decision-making
Experience working in international and/or matrix organizations is an advantage
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and procurement tools is considered a plus
Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
