Experienced Clinical Service Provider Manager

In Global Clinical Delivery (GCD), we recognize that effective partnerships and strong processes are essential for advancing our pipeline. GCD is comprised of four areas which include Global Clinical Business Operations (GCBO), Global Clinical Operations (GCO), Global Clinical Compliance (GCC) and Global Program Management (GPM).  In this role you will report to the Director of Global Clinical Business Operations (GCBO), located at the Parsippany, NJ site in the US.  You will work directly with colleagues around the globe.  Within Global Clinical Business Operations, you will have One Clinical Service Provider Manager counterpart that is in the US office.


Your day at Ferring- Tasks where you are accountable
As our Clinical Service Provider Manager, you will play a key role in driving and ensuring high performance from outsourced service providers, safeguarding the quality and effective delivery of all outsourced trial activities. You will help drive operational efficiency with our service providers by streamlining communication, supporting timely decision-making, and strengthening collaboration across teams and partners.  Through ongoing trend analysis and documentation across trials, you will generate insights that inform continuous improvements, including enhancements to training, onboarding, and process refinement with our Service Providers. 
 

You will also promote consistency across trials by applying standardized expectations and leveraging historical knowledge and learnings.  Ultimately, you will help ensure that all operational outsourced clinical trial activities are set up in a consistent way and delivered with quality, efficiency and care.
 

Your task will be:

  • Maintain accountability for Service Provider operational needs across all trials. Work collaboratively across all trial teams drawing on historical knowledge and service provider specific trends to drive informed decision-making, strengthen partnerships and improve operational efficiency.

  • Continually monitor Service Provider performance and collaborate with CPM team and Global Procurement to ensure that deliverables are achieved in accordance with agreed quality standards, budget and
    timelines across all trials managed by a given Service Provider. Maintain a collaborative partnership with Service providers driving effective issue resolution and continuous performance improvement.

  • Lead trial outsourcing preparation meeting and contribute to RFP, Service Provider Matrix, bid-defense meetings and service provider selection. Ensure knowledge from selection process is documented
    and that historical knowledge is applied during the selection process.

  • Support procurement outsourcing manager with agreement review, negotiations including system uploads and PO creation for CPM financial management.

  • Maintain cross trial KPI and SHI trends per Service Provider to continuously assess Service Provider performance. 

  • Identify and monitor trends across trials and communicate insights efficiently to stakeholders for management and process improvement where applicable.

  • Contribute to building a scalable outsourcing framework, including process design, documentation, communication, and implementation to ensure clarity, efficiency, and consistency globally.

  • Promote quality, compliance, and inspection readiness, ensuring outsourced activities adhere to regulatory requirements, ICH-GCP, and internal policies, while collaborating closely with Quality and operational teams.

  • Build strong, collaborative partnerships with key internal stakeholders, including Procurement, Legal, and Global Clinical Operations to ensure an integrated, cross‑functional approach to service provider management.

This newly established role within GCD supports our expanded operational outsourcing model and plays an integral role in documenting knowledge for future use, identifying trends, and driving insight‑based improvements and consistency across trials
 

The skills you need to have:

  • Several years (6-8 years) of experience in global clinical operations, including hands‑on Service Provider (e.g. CRO, Laboratory, etc.) Management.

  • Strong understanding of global clinical development, regulatory requirements, and ICH‑GCP guidelines.

  • Proven track record in selecting, awarding and managing external service providers across international clinical trials.

  • Degree in life sciences, healthcare, or a related field, preferably at a master’s degree level.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and functions.

  • Strong presentation skills in English, both written and verbal.
