About the role

As Technical Team Lead for Hobbii's Purchase Experience Team, you’ll lead and inspire a group of skilled engineers to design and deliver seamless shopping experiences - from product discovery to checkout. You’ll be the link between technology, product, and design, ensuring our technical foundation supports both growth and customer delight.

You’ll set direction, drive development, and mentor your team, while ensuring the platform remains scalable, performant, and secure. In short, you’ll be shaping the backbone of how millions of customers find and purchase their perfect yarn match.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4–6 software engineers focused on the purchase journey

• Define and execute the technical roadmap for Hobbiis e-commerce platform

• Collaborate closely with Product and Design to improve conversion, satisfaction, and loyalty

• Ensure reliable, fast, and secure shopping and payment flows across web and mobile

• Foster engineering excellence through best practices, code quality, and continuous improvement

• Bridge technical complexity and business impact – turning insight into clear direction

• Create a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and shared ownership

Your profile

You’re an experienced software engineer and a natural leader – curious, structured, and business-minded. You combine technical depth with a strong sense of product and people, thriving where strategy meets execution.

We imagine you bring:

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a technical lead role

• Solid background in e-commerce platforms, ideally Shopify Plus or similar

• Hands-on experience with modern technologies such as React, Node.js, TypeScript, or Laravel

• Experience with service architecture, APIs, and integrations

• Understanding of payment systems, inventory management, and order processing

• Ability to mentor and motivate engineers and foster strong team collaboration

• A product mindset – comfortable working with data, experimentation, and business metrics

• A calm and pragmatic approach when priorities shift or complexity increases
