Senior Legal Counsel

You’re embedded in the business to shape strategic tech and procurement partnership
This isn’t your average in-house role. You’ll be embedded in the business, working closely with Procurement, Digital & IT, Global E-Commerce Excellence, and Data & AI. You’ll be more than a legal reviewer. You’ll be a strategic partner and a crucial player in ECCO’s global transformation.

You’ll be the go-to legal expert for IT and procurement contracts across ECCO’s global operations. Your work will span everything from open-source licenses to complex vendor agreements with tech giants like Microsoft and SAP. You’ll also support sourcing agreements for materials, production, and indirect procurement. Further, you will get access to Harvey, ECCO’s AI legal assistant.

Here’s a snapshot of your key responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate global IT and procurement contracts, including bespoke agreements and templates.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to align legal advice with business goals and ensure value-driven contracts.
• Provide clear, culturally sensitive legal guidance across ECCO’s international footprint.
• Work with ECCO’s Privacy Officer to ensure compliance in digital products.
• Provide ad hoc support on broader legal matters, such as regulatory compliance and M&A.

You think strategically and build strong partnerships
We’re looking for someone who’s confident, curious, and collaborative, with a sharp legal mind and a proactive approach to navigating complexity. You’ll be advising across borders, so the ability to tailor your guidance to different cultures and business contexts is key.

Your background might include:

• A Master of Law or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial and IT law, ideally from a law firm or global company.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Strategic thinking and stakeholder management skills, paired with a solution-oriented mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
• A track record of delivering high-quality work on time.
• Experience as in-house counsel is a plus, but not a must.
