PhD scholarship in Pavement Mechanics - DTU Sustain

The Geotechnics and Geology Section at DTU Sustain explores a novel type of pavement infrastructure, in which aggregate layers are bound by a fungal-derived alternative to bitumen. A three-year PhD scholarship is offered in this context, with the objective of modelling, coding, verifying, and field-validating a new mechanistic analysis tool for pavements containing fungal-bound layers. The research will focus on urban traffic conditions, where pavements are subjected to moving, accelerating, braking, and turning wheel loads.
