Job Req Number:  107853
Time Type: Full Time

Are you ready to ensure that we have the right amount and type of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) at our cross docks and warehouses in Denmark, Sweden and Norway – thereby managing contracts for about 1,500 vehicles?

Then join us and become the single point of contact for MHE in Scandinavia.

”One moment, you are working with a two-day deadline to replace a broken forklift. The next, you are writing a business case for a tender on 50 vehicles for a brand-new warehouse,” says Director for MHE & De- and Rebranding, Thomas Declercq.

Welcome to a supportive and highly international team

You will join our MHE department, consisting of 10 colleagues working from Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium. Despite having 9 different nationalities, we share a strong focus on reaching our goals together.

You will be the only person from your team working at our location in Horsens, where you will share an office with the 6 colleagues who are also part of Operational Procurement. But you will never feel disconnected from the rest of your team.

“We are very much about supporting each other. Twice a week we have team meetings where we present business cases, ask for feedback and clarification. All in a very open-minded and welcoming way,“ Thomas continues.

Ensure that all our Scandinavian warehouses have the correct fleet of forklifts

Being responsible for the wide range of vehicles that are driving inside our warehouses, you will work closely with our warehouse managers as well as your 3 external suppliers of MHE. You will manage the process right from when a need is identified at a warehouse to the contract with the supplier is signed.

Some of your recurring tasks will be to:

  • Assess the changing needs of each warehouse – both running and newly built – by conducting visits to identify required equipment specifications and operational requirements
  • Reach out to further analyse the needs for equipment and continue the dialogue with the warehouse managers
  • Create and present business cases for your team
  • Finalise contracts and write up timelines for delivery
  • Act as the single point of contact for MHE in Scandinavia, ensuring that each warehouse has sufficient equipment.

You will spend your first 2 weeks in Venlo, The Netherlands, where you will undergo an extensive introduction and most importantly get to know your colleagues. On average, you can expect to travel twice a month to our Scandinavian warehouses, as well as Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.

You bring logistics knowledge and project management expertise

Even though we do not expect a high level of technical expertise, you are eager to learn and dive into the specifics. And you bring the same level of curiosity when it comes to working with people – both in terms of understanding their reality and how you can get the most out of your collaboration.

Furthermore, we imagine that you:

  • Have hands-on experience working with logistics
  • Might have experience with procurement, but this is not a requirement – neither is experience with MHE
  • Have a bachelor's degree – this could be in logistics, but we are open when it comes to your line of study
  • Know how to manage projects and bridge the opinions of both suppliers and warehouse managers
  • Speak and write English fluently – a Scandinavian language is a plus
