Teach undergraduate students from North American universities who are spending a semester studying in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Environmental Economics course provides students with a broad understanding of the economic approach to deciphering and resolving problems in the environment. Students learn a set of theoretical and practical economic skills for addressing environmental problems developed through a primary focus on energy use and production. They gain a toolbox of economic ideas and examples by application to the Scandinavian and broader European environment.

This is a part-time teaching position, so faculty are welcome to continue their full-time work while teaching. Salary is based on an AC Agreement. Faculty are expected to work approximately 10 hr/week at DIS with the following breakdown:
Materials from the current syllabus are available (both readings and in-class teaching materials). There will be opportunity to sit in on the current semester’s course for preparation. It is possible to cover some course topics with guest lectures.
Semester runs from early January to mid-May. Training and onboarding are planned on an individual basis. There will also be an opportunity to continue teaching the same course in future semesters.
Teaching at DIS requires creativity and flexibility. Faculty prioritize bringing course material to life through interactive, experiential learning, and are communicative and engaged with their students.
Students are typically in their third year of university. Courses are all taught in English.
Pedagogical support, training, and mentorship is available at DIS through the Learning Lab and experienced faculty; faculty are encouraged to collaborate with academic support staff in various professional development opportunities.
