At Demant, Digital Signal Processing sits at the heart of something deeply human: how people experience the world through sound. As a DSP Engineer, you will not only develop algorithms, but help shape how millions of people connect, communicate, and live fuller lives. You will join a cross-functional SAFe Scrum team within an Agile Release Train, working at the intersection of advanced DSP, hearing science, and real-world user experience, where your work directly influences how users perceive their world, making sound more natural, less tiring, and more meaningful for people with hearing loss.
This role suits an engineer who enjoys deep technical problem-solving while working collaboratively across disciplines, and who is comfortable moving between concept exploration, implementation, testing, and real-world validation as part of an end-to-end product development process.
You will work across the full DSP development lifecycle, with responsibilities shaped by your experience and strengths. This includes innovating and concepting next-generation DSP algorithms for hearing instruments through simulation, performance evaluation, and iterative exploration, while developing and optimising audiological features that balance sound quality against strict power, memory, and latency constraints. You will implement DSP concepts in reference models and collaborate closely with embedded software engineers to bring them into real-time products, while supporting verification and testing activities such as test automation, acoustic measurements, sound-studio experiments, and subjective listening tests.
You will contribute to system design, requirements, and configuration across hearing aids, fitting software, and associated applications, and support product launches through validation of feature claims, contributions to white papers, invention disclosures, and marketing input. Documentation is a natural part of your work, from early concepts to final audiological feature descriptions, and you will identify patent opportunities in collaboration with IP specialists. In parallel, you will continuously improve DSP tools and workflows, ensuring high code quality, testability, and maintainability, while working closely with audiologists, embedded software engineers, test specialists, and product owners, always keeping the end user at the centre of decision-making. #LI-CC1 #LI-HYBRID
You are a skilled DSP engineer who combines technical depth with curiosity, clear communication, and a strong sense of purpose. You enjoy solving complex problems in collaboration with others and understand that great DSP is not only about algorithms, but about the human experience of sound. You thrive in a collaborative environment, actively contributing within a SAFe framework, and communicate complex DSP concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are open to feedback, adaptable to changing priorities, and motivated by continuous learning and improvement.
You take ownership of your work, proactively identifying problems and proposing solutions, while aligning your contributions with team objectives and the wider company vision. You bring empathy and a user-centric mindset, understanding the impact of DSP algorithms on people with hearing loss, and value working in a respectful, transparent, and inclusive global environment that reflects Demant’s mission to improve hearing health and enhance lives.
Please send your CV and motivational letter as soon as possible, as we are screening applications on a continuous basis. Please note that we only accept applications through our online recruitment system.
