Company Description

With more than 3,000 employees, Deloitte is the largest audit and consultancy firm in Denmark. We tailor solutions across Audit, Tax, Financial Advisory Services, Enterprise Risk Services, Technology, and Transformations.

About the team

Our Sustainability Team is made up of experts from different backgrounds, each bringing skills that complement one another. We work together to find practical solutions that help our clients make meaningful progress in sustainability. By understanding their challenges, we develop strategies that create lasting benefits for both businesses and the environment. Our team thrives on collaboration and innovation, ensuring that each project we take on leads to real, measurable improvements in sustainability practices.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and practically minded Senior Climate Sustainability Consultant to join our team and support large public- and private‑sector clients in planning and delivering credible decarbonisation and net‑zero strategies. The role combines technical GHG accounting and target-setting expertise with commercial consulting skills to design actionable pathways that reduce emissions, manage climate risk and meet emerging regulatory and investor expectations.

In this role, you will make an impact by:

  • Lead and deliver end‑to‑end GHG accounting engagements across Scope 1, 2 and complex Scope 3 categories, ensuring methodologies align with the GHG Protocol and recognised standards (e.g. CDP, CSRD, SBTi).
  • Lead SBTi target development and submission projects, including scoping, target calculation, documentation, internal alignment and submission support; coordinate validation queries and evidence provision.
  • Design, model and present decarbonisation and net‑zero pathways (short, medium and long term), quantifying emissions reductions from levers such as energy efficiency, fuel switching, electrification, renewables procurement (PPA/RECs), process improvements, product design and supply‑chain interventions.
  • Build robust emissions models and scenario/modelling frameworks (e.g. marginal abatement cost curves, scenario sensitivity, pathway comparisons) to support strategic decision making.
  • Provide guidance on carbon removal, offsetting principles and credible use of removals in net‑zero strategies (aligned to SBTi Net‑Zero Standard and best practice).
  • Advise on climate‑related disclosure and compliance (CSRD, TCFD/ISSB-aligned disclosures, CDP), and shape clients’ governance, risk management and climate strategy integration.
  • Lead supply‑chain engagement programmes to improve data quality and drive Scope 3 reductions (supplier questionnaires, segmentation, data collection tools, supplier capacity building).

Qualifications

We seek a candidate with a solid foundation in climate sustainability and a keen interest in consulting. Experience with climate frameworks, the GHG Protocol, SBTi standards and methodologies and decarbonization approaches is a must. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential to succeed in this dynamic environment.

What you bring to the team:

  • 3-5+ years’ relevant experience in climate sustainability, GHG accounting and decarbonisation advisory — consulting or in‑house climate/sustainability teams at large organisations.
  • Hands‑on experience applying the GHG Protocol (including Scope 3 guidance) and SBTi criteria and methodologies.
  • Proven track record delivering SBTi submissions and/or net‑zero strategies that have progressed through validation or board approval.
  • Strong quantitative and modelling capability — able to build, interrogate and explain emissions models (Excel; experience with Python/R, SQL or specific decarbonisation tools such as SimaPro, GaBi, or bespoke models is desirable).
  • Practical knowledge of energy markets and renewable procurement options (corporate PPAs, I‑REC, GO/REC frameworks), and of carbon removal/offset markets and quality principles.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
  • A genuine passion for consulting and helping clients achieve their sustainability goals and a proactive approach to driving climate impact

Even if you do not see yourself in all the bullets above, we still encourage you to apply if you believe your skills can make an impact on our team.
