You will join Deloitte Audit and Assurance as an IT auditor in our IT Audit and Assurance team. We help clients transform the ways in which they leverage people, technology, processes, and controls to address their financial and operational risks and drive performance within their business operations. IT audit work can include assignments that provide assurance or advice. An IT audit typically evaluates and reports upon the procedures and control environment around the IT systems in place within an organisation, with a view to achieving more effective management of the risks to which the entity is exposed.

Job Description

As an IT Auditor we help our clients in the following ways:

  • We identify risks and weaknesses, thus enabling the definition of solutions for introducing controls over processes supported by IT.
  • We help organisations take advantage of new and innovative technologies and better manage their risks through advisory and managed services.
  • We test controls implemented to mitigate risks around the use of IT, as part of supporting financial auditing tasks as well as for third party reporting.
  • We provide clients with assurance reports on several topics, including general it controls in an outsourcing environment, application and process controls and protection of personal data (GDPR) e.g. ISAE 3402, ISAE 3000, SOC.
  • We support and transform internal audit functions to provide relevant and timely insights to Executive Management and the Board on a wide range of risks
  • We work across functions within Deloitte to provide our clients with the right set of skills

While your projects are based in the IT Audit and Assurance team, you will be working closely with our Financial Audit teams and with clients that span both nationally and internationally. You will quickly be involved in client proposals and help produce key analyses and reports. We will make sure that you get familiar with the latest models, methodologies, tools and frameworks so that you feel confident when approaching clients. We believe in leadership at all levels. Qualifications

Based on client needs and your skill set and preferences, the focus of your assignments may vary within these topics:

  • Analysing business processes to identify risks and provide advisory for optimisation purposes.
  • Providing deep insights into existing and emerging risks in different processes and organisations through examination and evaluation of an organisation’s information technology infrastructure, policies and operations.
  • Performing wide-ranging IT audits and IT reviews to provide our clients with practical recommendations to protect corporate assets, ensure data integrity and alignment with the organisation’s overall goals.
  • Supporting our clients’ internal audit projects to identify areas for improvement and provide related recommendations towards the Executive Management.

What you bring to the team:

  • You hold a master’s degree or equivalent experience in data or computer science, audit, management, business administration, economics, accounting, information technology or a similar business degree.
  • You have the ability to work independently, but also as a team player.
  • You adapt easily to changing circumstances, as you enjoy facing new challenges every day.
  • You are a strong communicator, analytical, proactive and know how to tackle a problem.
  • You are curious about and have a passion for technology.
  • You are keen on having daily interaction and close collaboration with the client.
  • Relevant work experience in information technology systems, business and financial controls, process management or any related field.

Nice to have (Not required):

  • Foundational knowledge of IT control frameworks and standards (e.g., ITIL, ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, COSO).
  • Exposure to assurance reporting standards (e.g., ISAE 3402/3000, SOC 1/2) and GDPR/data protection concepts.
  • Practical experience from internships, student jobs or case competitions within IT, audit, risk, cyber or consulting.
  • Familiarity with ERP or core business systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and process controls.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms and related controls (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and modern delivery practices (e.g., DevOps, CI/CD).
  • Awareness of application, database, and infrastructure concepts (e.g., operating systems, networking, identity and access management).

Comfort working in client-facing environments and collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams.
