DENWERX (DNWX) is an innovation hub of GLOBALWERX (GWX) operating internationally in Denmark. GLOBALWERX is a nonprofit 501(c)3 that is a sister organization to DEFENSEWERX.

 

DENWERX is a neutral facilitator and trusted partner, connecting an international network of individuals, businesses, educators and government organizations to enable creative and integrated solutions for our partners across Denmark and the world.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Innovation Hub Director will oversee the DENWERX innovation environment supporting the DENWERX Government Partner. The Hub Director will manage operating budgets with guidance from GLOBALWERX headquarters. The Hub Director will manage staffing, operations, and projects to advance the specific objectives of Danish national security and ensure the success of the innovation hub. The successful candidate will ensure alignment with GWX core values and company policies and demonstrate effective leadership and government partner relationship-building skills. Candidates should have senior corporate and/or government experience, small business start-up experience managing profit & loss responsibilities with a successful history of experience in emerging research and collaboration that will complement Innovation Hub programs. The ideal candidate will champion an entrepreneurial spirit, collaborative problem-solving, and bring deep experience working with industry, academia, Ministry of Defence, tech transfer, and innovative processes and technologies.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


PLANNING

  • Creates annual operating plans that support the strategic direction set by the GWX Corporate Headquarters and correlate with annual operating budgets; submits annual plans for approval
  • Collaborates with the government partner, stakeholders, and GWX corporate staff to define and articulate the organization’s vision and to develop strategies for achieving the government partner’s vision
  • Plans and leads the efforts for completing the hub’s buildout and is responsible for deliverables

 

MANAGEMENT

  • Promotes a culture that reflects the organization’s values, encourages good performance, and rewards productivity
  • Manages and develops team members and governs the innovation hub organization according to authorized HR personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations
  • Oversees the operations of the organization and manages its compliance with legal and regulatory requirements

 

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

  • Develops annual budgets that support operating plans and submits budgets for approval
  • Prudently manages the organization’s resources within budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations
  • Ensures that staff practices all appropriate accounting and operational procedures in compliance with GWX corporate policy, protocols, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

 

HR MANAGEMENT

  • Recruitment and contracting of company and project staff
  • Employee development, performance planning, and training
  • Employee relations
  • Employment compliance and reporting aligned to regulations and corporate policy

 

MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS:

  • Organize the availability of company members for media/PR events as necessary
  • Oversee and guide content, production, customer approval, and distribution of all marketing and publicity materials (posters, programs, flyers, mail outs, brochures, etc.)
  • Coordinate with government partner program manager(s) and stakeholders for any and all publicly-releasable material

 

COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIPS

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative for the organization in alignment with corporate standards and communications policies
  • Assure that the organization and its mission, programs, and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders
  • Actively advocate for the organization, its beliefs, and its programmatic efforts
  • Act as a liaison between government partner program manager(s) and the innovation ecosystem and stakeholder community, building relationships that enable the innovation hub and aligned government partner objectives

 

FUNDRAISING

  • Serve as a primary person in donor relationships and the person to make one-on-one fundraising solicitations
  • Develop fundraising strategies with GWX corporate leadership and support fundraising activities that benefit customer objectives
  • Oversee staff in the timely submission of grant applications, contract renewals and extensions, cost and technical proposals, RFI and RFQ responses, and progress reports for the funder


OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a security clearance or successfully obtain and maintain ITAR license
  • Must not have any conflicts of interest affecting GLOBALWERX or its partners
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and great work ethic
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and drive results through collaboration
  • Desire to serve, mentor, guide, and develop others and promote GLOBALWERX core values and a positive working environment
