You will collaborate closely with nearby colleagues and engage with both academic and industrial partners—within Denmark and internationally—to drive forward research, development, and implementation of sustainability-focused carbon capture initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Investigation, screening, and development of next-generation solvents for carbon capture pilot plants
  • Characterization of solvent physical, chemical, and thermodynamic properties using laboratory methods and analytical instruments
  • Operation and troubleshooting of a mini-pilot carbon capture plant, including monitoring performance and ensuring safe process execution
  • execution of parametric studies to optimize absorption, desorption, and overall process efficiency of a mini-pilot carbon capture plant
  • Compilation, processing, and interpretation of experimental data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Documentation of experimental procedures, results, and technical learnings
  • Preparation and delivery of clear, well-structured presentations of plans, methods, and results to internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Support in scaling laboratory findings to pilot-scale activities in collaboration with engineers and research partners

Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on experience with laboratory-scale and pilot-scale carbon capture operations, including setup, operation, troubleshooting, and data handling
  • Practical experience with key laboratory equipment and analytical techniques, such as ion chromatography (IC), titration systems, gas analyzers, and physical property measurement instruments
  • Good understanding of thermodynamics, phase equilibria (especially SLE), and solvent behavior in absorption–desorption cycles
  • Strong documentation skills, with experience preparing technical reports, experiment logs, and safety documentation
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional research environments
