An exciting opportunity is available in the Electronics Group at DTU Electro. We invite applications for a 2-year fully funded Postdoctoral or Research Assistant position, supported by the Danish EUDP project “RePower-HPC.”

Future AI and high-performance computing (HPC) systems demand unprecedented power levels driven by massive data processing. A key challenge is enabling efficient and compact power modules capable of supporting these workloads. The RePower-HPC project aims to reshape the landscape of power delivery by developing next-generation, energy-efficient vertical power modules for advanced HPC platforms.

This position will focus on innovative power architectures, advanced circuit topologies, magnetic component optimization, and integrated packaging solutions that push the boundaries of efficiency and power density for future AI computing.

Responsibilities and qualifications
As part of our research team, your expertise will contribute directly to solving some of the most pressing challenges in power delivery for AI and HPC systems. You will work on designing high-efficiency, compact vertical power modules and shape solutions for next-generation AI factories.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Investigating optimal power architectures for an 800 V bus in next-generation AI infrastructure.
  • Developing high-efficiency, high-density power converters, including novel circuit topologies and integrated matrix transformers.
  • Performing circuit-level simulations, such as LTspice (or similar), and FEM simulations using ANSYS Maxwell.
  • Designing PCBs, building converter prototypes, and conducting experimental validation and testing.

This project is conducted in close collaboration with industrial partners. Therefore, an open and collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams are essential. Entrepreneurial interest or motivation toward start-up activities will be considered a plus.

We value diversity and are committed to fostering an inclusive research environment. We strongly encourage applicants of all genders who wish to help shape the future of power electronics.

As a formal qualification, if you are applying for postdoc position, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent). If you are applying for research assistant position, you must have a two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master's degree.
