DanChurchAid (DCA) is looking for a committed and analytical intern to join our Global Partnerships and Resource Mobilization (GPRM) unit at our headquarters in Copenhagen. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in global fundraising with one of Denmark’s leading international non-governmental organisations.

About the role

The GPRM unit is responsible for strengthening DCA’s collaboration with institutional donors and philanthropic partners. We provide strategic guidance and technical support to DCA country offices and HQ departments to increase access to and sustain quality funding and build sustainable partnerships. The unit is comprised of country advisors as well as donor specialists in Denmark and abroad.

As an intern, you will work closely with the GPRM team to identify and analyse international foundations with potential alignment to DCA’s strategic priorities. Your main task will be to assist in mapping key foundations globally, focusing on thematic, geographic, and strategic fit, while reviewing partnership requirements and potential risks. You will also be expected to support with other GPRM-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct desk research based on existing mappings and new information to identify relevant international foundations with a focus on development and humanitarian funding.
  • Analyse and categorise foundations based on thematic priorities, funding criteria, and geographic focus.
  • Support the development of a structured database of potential foundation partners.
  • Assess foundation partnership requirements and identify possible risks or constraints for engagement.
  • Contribute to internal reports and presentations on foundation engagement opportunities.
  • Support in mapping and analysing alternative donors and funding models.
  • Assist in other GPRM-related tasks as needed.

About you and what we are looking for

  • Interest in/knowledge of working with humanitarian interventions, global development issues, and/or global fundraising.
  • Enrolled in the final year(s) of a relevant university degree programme in international development, social science, global studies, political science, or a related field.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Proactive and with strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail and ability to compile information into easy-to-understand briefing material.
  • Ability to work independently, manage tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online applications at intermediate level.
