Do you want to join a global fund manager in energy infrastructure investments? If so, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) is currently looking for a Vice President to join our Energy Management team based in Copenhagen. 

Team

The team serves as the central hub for route-to-market activities, with a focus on power generation & storage, gas, hydrogen, and advanced biofuels. Energy Management provides support to all funds across CIP throughout the whole project lifecycle, from the initial development stage to Final Investment Decision (FID), Operation, and Divestment. Energy Management is responsible for delivering price curves, offtake strategies, and deal structures to enhance the value of every investment.

Role
As our new Vice President, you will play a key role in shaping and executing investment strategy of Energy Management. You will bring deep industry knowledge and commercial acumen to help identify viable biofuel solutions, structure off-take agreements, and navigate complex regulatory environments. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs, payment willingness, and legal requirements, and translate technical offerings into compelling commercial propositions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting market analysis and identifying investment opportunities across the biofuel value chain
  • Structuring and negotiating off-take agreements with corporate customers
  • Understanding and leveraging regulatory frameworks and certification schemes across markets
  • Navigating the complexities of certificate trading across European jurisdictions
  • Building and maintaining networks within gas, power, and regulatory communities
  • Collaborating with technical colleagues to assess product-market fit and economic stack viability
  • Managing commercial conversations with customers and stakeholders across Europe
  • Supporting the development of scalable, innovative bioenergy solutions
  • Understanding how EU regulation underpins and drives demand for bioenergy products
  • Identifying and targeting customers with payment willingness and aligning product offerings with their requirements.

You

We are looking for a commercially driven and analytically experienced individual with deep experience (min. 10 years) in the biofuel, gas or energy trading sectors. You have navigated regulatory complexity and structured deals in rapidly changing markets. Moreover, you have a deep understanding of how bioenergy products integrate into the broader energy and infrastructure landscape.
