Firmabeskrivelse

Location: Copenhagen (hybrid flexibility, 3 days in office)
Company: Coach Solutions A/S
Industry: Maritime SaaS | Data & Sustainability | High-Impact Tech
Position Type: 8-month maternity leave substitute (full-time)

Help us maintain product quality and release confidence during a critical growth phase.

At Coach Solutions, we build maritime software that helps global shipping companies sail smarter, greener, and more profitably. Now backed by Kongsberg Maritime, we're entering a new growth phase – scaling our platform, shipping features faster, and maintaining the quality standards our customers depend on.

We're looking for a Technical Automation QA Engineer to join us for a 7-month maternity leave substitute – someone who thrives on test automation, quality advocacy, and partnering with development teams to catch defects before they reach production.

Your impact

You'll own quality assurance end-to-end – designing and maintaining automated test suites, acting as a quality gate for releases, and partnering with developers to embed quality into our CI/CD pipeline.

Working closely with the Head of Development and Platform, Tech Leads, Developers, DevOps, and Product, you'll ensure that our releases are stable, our test coverage is strong, and our quality practices continue to mature during this critical period.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Building and maintaining automated test suites – designing API, integration, UI, and regression tests that catch defects early

  • Embedding test automation in CI/CD – ensuring fast feedback loops and reliable test execution in our pipelines

  • Acting as a quality gate for releases – providing clear quality assessments and risk analysis before production deployments

  • Reviewing pull requests – focusing on testability, coverage, and quality risks; challenging missing tests constructively

  • Participating in test strategy and design – defining acceptance criteria, identifying edge cases, and translating requirements into robust test scenarios

  • Managing test data and environments – maintaining reliable test data strategies and ensuring deterministic, repeatable tests

  • Collaborating across teams – coaching developers on quality practices, communicating risks clearly, and supporting testable code

  • Documenting quality practices – maintaining practical QA documentation and sharing knowledge across teams

What makes this role exciting

  • You'll make an immediate impact in a well-functioning QA practice – stepping into an established role with clear structure

  • You'll work on a product that delivers measurable customer outcomes (fuel savings, CO₂ reductions, operational performance) in a mission-critical industry

  • You'll partner closely with development teams – quality is a shared responsibility, not a gatekeeping function

  • You'll have ownership and autonomy over test automation strategy and implementation

  • You'll work with a modern tech stack and tooling in a SaaS platform environment

  • You'll be part of a highly ambitious growth phase – backed by Kongsberg Maritime – where quality enables speed

  • You'll gain deep domain experience in maritime tech (optional nice-to-have, but we'll teach you)

Who you are

You're technically strong, quality-focused, collaborative, and pragmatic. You get energy from preventing defects, building reliable automation, and helping teams ship with confidence.

You likely have experience as:
Software Development Engineer in Test Automation, Test Automation Engineer, Senior QA Automation Engineer, or Automation QA Lead (individual contributor).

And you:

  • Have 4–6 years of experience in QA / test automation roles: you know how to design, build, and maintain robust test suites

  • Are strong with automated testing (API, integration, UI):  you've built automation frameworks and know what makes tests reliable

  • Understand software development and system architecture:  you can debug complex systems and analyze failures

  • Are comfortable with test frameworks and tooling (.NET Framework, Jest, Playwright, Postman, or similar)

  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders: you explain quality risks without creating fear

  • Are collaborative and constructive: you partner with developers, don't gatekeep

  • Advocate proactively for quality: you raise risks early, challenge risky changes respectfully, and focus on prevention

  • Can hit the ground running in an 8-month role: you're adaptable, learn fast, and contribute immediately

What you'll get

  • A purpose-driven workplace at the intersection of tech, data, and sustainability

  • A well-established QA practice: you're stepping into a functioning role with clear responsibilities and a supportive team

  • A technical leadership team that cares about quality, structure, and measurable outcomes

  • A close-knit team in Nordhavn, with colleagues in Copenhagen and globally

  • A workplace with an informal environment where we actually like each other and help one another across the organization

  • A flexible, informal culture where trust, humor, and psychological safety matter

  • A 7-month role with clear scope – meaningful contribution without long-term commitment pressure

  • Potential for extended collaboration if there's mutual interest beyond the maternity leave period

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary aligned to role responsibilities and market standards

  • Pension: Employer contribution 10%, employee contribution 5%

  • Health insurance

  • Lunch scheme

  • Holiday according to Danish holiday law

  • Employer-paid phone and home internet
