Job Description
Clinical Ink is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Copenhagen Business Unit based in Denmark. The ideal candidate is proactive, has a strong test-automation mindset, and thrives in agile teams working closely with engineers and business stakeholders. This role will own and execute test strategy across sprints and releases, help shift testing left, and ensure high-quality delivery through a combination of manual exploratory testing and automated pipelines. Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Playwright, and CI/CD is essential for success. The Quality Engineer's responsibilities include:
  • Plan, schedule and execute test efforts (manual and automated) as part of sprints and releases.
  • Design, implement and maintain automated test suites using Playwright (or equivalent).
  • Execute and analyze regression test runs; document and communicate results with the team.
  • Support Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment using Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation and traceability (test cases, test results, coverage).
  • Refine acceptance criteria, review test coverage of new features, and collaborate with product and engineering to ensure requirements are testable.
  • Promote and enable a shift-left testing culture: apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices.
  • Perform exploratory testing and “break the code” to discover edge cases and usability gaps.
  • Communicate the value and benefits of manual testing and automation to stakeholders to prioritize testing investments.
  • Align test automation efforts with regulatory quality assurance requirements (when applicable).
  • Execute and adapt test strategies to deliver the maximum value to customers, users, and the business.
  • Ensure appropriate test management and documentation to support audits and traceability.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years experience as a Tester, Quality Engineer, or similar role with a focus on test automation.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with test automation tools like Playwright (or comparable modern UI automation frameworks).
  • Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and Git (or similar version control).
  • Practical use of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices in day-to-day work.
  • Strong general testing profile: regression testing, exploratory testing, test design and execution.
  • Comfortable working in agile teams and closely collaborating with engineers and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to document tests and test results clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of QA processes and constraints in regulated industries (e.g., life sciences, healthcare, finance) preferred.
  • Experience aligning automated testing with regulatory requirements and auditability preferred.
  • Familiarity with test management tools and practices for traceability and reporting preferred.
  • Proactive, pragmatic and outcome-focused.
  • Excellent communicator; able to explain technical testing concepts to stakeholders.
  • Curious, detail-oriented, and persistent when investigating defects.
  • Collaborative and willing to coach the team towards earlier, automated testing and continuous quality.
