Are you a student within finance, accounting, or economics and looking to gain hands-on experience alongside your studies? This student assistant role offers a unique opportunity to work with real financial processes in an international energy trading environment. You will take on meaningful responsibilities, develop your technical and analytical skills, and become part of a collaborative finance team that values learning, curiosity, and professional growth.

About the Role

As a Student Assistant in Finance, you will support the daily operations of the Finance function and gain practical insight into how financial processes work in a complex, international organisation. The role provides broad exposure to accounting, controlling, and reporting across several legal entities. You will work closely with experienced colleagues who are committed to knowledge sharing and development, allowing you to build a strong foundation for a future career in finance.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Handling supplier invoices, including approval workflows and posting in the ERP system

• Contributing to month-end close activities across multiple entities

• Preparing reporting files, postings of accruals and prepayments, and performing account reconciliations

• Supporting process documentation, internal controls, and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements

• Assisting with financial reporting, Power BI reports, and selected tasks related to annual reporting and regulatory submissions

About You

You are motivated to apply your theoretical knowledge in practice and are eager to learn how finance functions in a real-world business setting. You enjoy working in a structured way and feel comfortable taking responsibility for your tasks. At the same time, you value collaboration and see learning as something best achieved together with others.

We imagine that you:

• Are currently enrolled in a relevant higher education programme within finance, economics, accounting, or auditing

• Have a genuine interest in accounting, controlling, and financial reporting

• Work in a structured and detail-oriented manner

• Are curious and willing to learn new systems, processes, and ways of working

• Bring a positive mindset and enjoy working as part of a team

Relevant experience within finance is an advantage, but not a requirement.
