Are you a commercially driven power trader who thrives where analytics, modelling, and market intuition meet? This is your opportunity to take a high‑impact role within the Cross Border Power Trading & Analytics team, where you’ll shape positions, develop models, and convert insights into PnL. You’ll operate at the intersection of fundamental modelling, systematic strategy development, and tactical market execution—driving performance across some of Europe’s most dynamic power markets.

About the Role

In this senior role, you will lead trading activity while steering the analytical and modelling efforts that underpin commercial performance. You will work across a broad spectrum, from market execution to strategic opportunity development, ensuring ideas are taken from concept to commercial impact. Collaboration will be central, as you engage with specialists across analytics, data engineering, meteorology, and origination.

Your responsibilities include:

• Leading proprietary trading with full ownership of positioning, market risk, and PnL across selected European markets.

• Identifying, assessing, and monetising opportunities across intraday, short‑term, and curve horizons.

• Executing trades with discipline and strong market feel while adhering to risk limits and governance frameworks.

• Building, enhancing, and maintaining fundamental models that directly support trading decisions.

• Developing analytical frameworks and systematic tools that drive strategy design and signal generation.

• Collaborating with data engineers and IT to evolve infrastructure, automation, and scalable analytical workflows.

• Conducting deep‑dive analyses to uncover emerging opportunities and translate insights into tactical or strategic actions.

• Contributing to continuous improvement across trading processes, frameworks, and cross‑functional collaboration.

About You

You combine deep quantitative capability with sharp commercial instincts and hands‑on experience in European power markets. You thrive in a fast‑paced environment, enjoy solving complex market problems, and bring curiosity, structure, and accountability to everything you do. You are comfortable switching between analytical development, tactical execution, and strategic thinking, and you communicate clearly across technical and commercial stakeholders.

You bring:

• Several years of direct trading experience in European power markets with proven performance.

• Strong understanding of power fundamentals, volatility behaviour, and market microstructure.

• Advanced analytical skills and experience working with large or complex datasets.

• Strong programming capability (Python preferred; SQL/MATLAB/R advantageous).

• Experience with forecasting, optimisation, scenario analysis, or risk attribution.

• High ownership and initiative, with the ability to independently drive concepts through to commercial execution.

• A collaborative mindset and willingness to share knowledge across teams and disciplines.
