VP, Group Legal & IP
We’re looking for an experienced legal leader and strategic thinker for the role of Vice President, Group Legal & IP, to head our Group Legal & IP function. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for and manage a team of around 20 skilled legal and IP professionals,
The legal and compliance function in Carlsberg has more than 130 employees worldwide. As a global team, we aspire to “Win with the Business” by being a “Trusted Legal & Compliance organisation, digitally enabled, supporting the business to grow and mitigating legal & compliance risk, thereby setting the business up to deliver Carlsberg’s Accelerate Sail Strategy”.
This position is your opportunity to lead the Group Legal & IP team, to shape decisions at the highest level, drive innovation and efficiency in our legal practices, and support in ensuring that Carlsberg continues to grow responsibly and compliantly across more than 150 markets.
You will report to the Group General Counsel and be part of the Global Legal Management Team (GLMT), which also includes the 3 Regional Heads of Legal and the Head of Compliance and ERM. You can read more about the team and our structure below.

As a legal and compliance team, we are organized in 3 regions (Asia, Western Europe and Central Eastern Europe & India), led by 3 Regional Heads of Legal (VPs), having market lawyers on the ground in 40+ countries .
At Group level, we have two teams, Group Legal & IP and Group Compliance and ERM that are integrated and work very closely together.
Group Legal & IP is responsible for legal and contractual support and advice to most of the Group Functions, such as, Group Marketing and Group Commercial, Export & Licence, R&D, Integrated Supply Chain and Integrated IT. The team has strong functional experts, rendering advice and support to the business within critical legal areas, such as, disputes, competition law, data protection, corporate law, trade sanctions, ABC, company law, intellectual property, Digital/IT law, procurement law, ESG related laws and dispute management.
Group Legal and IP also cooperate with and support the 3 Regions and 40+ markets in the Carlsberg Group on certain types of specialist advice and work, such as competition law, data protection, sanctions, ABC, IP, procurement and IT contracts.
Group Compliance and ERM (led by our Head of Compliance and ERM) is responsible for the global legal compliance programs and enterprise risk management, (including our code of conduct and policy compliance framework). It sets global compliance and risk standards and processes and leads our Compass+ project (streamlining of Governance Risk & Compliance in Carlsberg globally).
