You'll join our dynamic Merchandising Solutions department, comprising over 20 highly skilled professionals, including data scientists, software engineers, and application developers. YOUR NEW ROLE
As Senior Platform Engineer, you will be a part of the technical leadership of the Appretio platform itself - the foundation our data scientists, engineers, and developers rely on every day. You will shape architectural direction and build the self-service capabilities and golden paths that let our teams move fast without reinventing the wheel.

YOUR IMPACT
In this senior role, you will:

• Design, build, and maintain the Appretio's cloud platform, primarily on AWS, with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes).
• Design self-service capabilities and golden paths that make the paved road the easy road for product teams, raising developer productivity across the department.
• Prepare Appretio for brand adoption - multi-tenancy, isolation, cost attribution, and scale.
• Partner with data science, engineering, and application teams to keep the platform roadmap grounded in real developer needs.
• Contribute to our agentic development environment.

YOUR PROFILE
You are an experienced platform or infrastructure engineer with a product mindset, strong architectural instincts, and a track record of making other engineers more productive. You are at home both at the whiteboard and in the code. Your expertise includes:

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Expertise in public cloud architecture, with AWS strongly preferred (Azure or GCP also valuable).
• Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, and infrastructure as code.
• Experience designing or scaling internal developer platforms, self-service tooling, or golden-path frameworks.
• Strong architectural judgement - able to weigh trade-offs across cost, security, reliability, and developer experience.
• Strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

The following qualifications would also be advantageous:

• Experience with data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake) and streaming (Kafka).
• MLOps or ML-platform experience - running AI and machine-learning workloads at production scale.
• Experience building multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure
• Interest or experience in agentic AI development workflows (e.g. Claude Code or containerised AI agents).
