To strengthen its growing organization, Skagen Blade Technology is seeking a Head of QHSE to take ownership of the management system, enhance safety and quality standards, and support global teams in day‑to‑day QHSE work. While the internal title is “Head of QHSE”, experienced QHSE Managers are strongly encouraged to apply, as the position is a specialist role with personnel management responsibilities.

Skagen Blade Technology (SBT) is a specialized on‑site service provider within blade repair, upgrades and performance optimization. From its base in Frederikshavn, the company supports complex projects across Europe, North America and Australia, delivering safe operations and high‑quality results in the field for major OEMs and renewable asset owners.

About the position

As Head of QHSE, you ensure that SBT’s ISO‑certified management systems are maintained, developed and applied across all projects and operations. The role combines system ownership with practical support to project teams and close collaboration with the Global QHSE Manager.

Your work spans the full project lifecycle - from early planning and risk assessments to audits, incident handling and continuous improvement.

The position includes four main areas of responsibility:

QHSE Management System
  • Maintain and improve the ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 systems

  • Ensure compliance with legislation, OEM requirements and certification standards

  • Lead audits, management reviews and certification follow‑ups

  • Serve as primary contact for external auditors

Quality & Project Support
  • Support projects with QHSE planning, risk assessments and method statements

  • Secure consistent quality standards across deliveries

  • Manage deviations, root‑cause analyses and corrective actions

Health, Safety & Environment
  • Develop and maintain HSE policies and procedures

  • Monitor incidents and safety performance and drive preventive initiatives

  • Ensure environmental compliance and continuous improvement

Training & Culture
  • Plan and deliver QHSE training and onboarding

  • Promoting a proactive QHSE culture

  • Advise leadership on risks, trends and improvement opportunities

About you

You bring a strong QHSE foundation from a technical, industrial or energy‑related environment, ideally the wind industry, though other high‑compliance sectors are equally relevant.

You are used to working internationally and enjoy balancing structured system work with practical support to technicians and project teams. You likely have a relevant technical or QHSE‑focused education and several years of experience within QHSE management, including solid knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, as well as hands‑on experience with audits, risk assessments and incident handling.

An understanding of project‑based operations and work on customer or OEM sites is important, as is fluency in English.

As a person, you are pragmatic, solution‑oriented and comfortable taking ownership of QHSE initiatives. You make clear decisions, create structure and help shape a strong safety mindset. With strong communication skills, you engage confidently across the organization, remaining calm and constructive in your dialogue.

Skagen Blade Technology offers

Skagen Blade Technology offers a central and influential role in a global wind service company, where QHSE plays a vital part in every project. You will join a dynamic technical environment with a strong focus on safety, quality and performance, and a workplace where your impact will be visible from day one.

SBT is closely connected to its sister company Skagen SSB, which hosts a comparable QHSE function, giving you a strong professional counterpart and a collaborative setup across the group.

Based in Frederikshavn, the role comes with a high level of flexibility - both to navigate multiple time zones and to handle occasional time‑sensitive tasks.
