Process Manager Design to Retire

At Bavarian Nordic, we are committed to saving and improving lives by unlocking the power of the immune system. Our commercial product portfolio includes market-leading vaccines against smallpox, mpox, rabies, tick-borne encephalitis, typhoid fever, cholera, and chikungunya. We excel in R&D innovation, manufacturing, and commercialization, striving to improve health and quality of life for people worldwide, protecting our tomorrow. Join us in our mission to make a difference.

The role

We are looking for a Process Manager for Design‑to‑Retire (D2R) who will own the D2R process and oversee its governance within our ERP business transformation program. This person will lead the development of the future-state (to‑be) D2R process, aligning it with industry best practices and ERP capabilities while ensuring the specific needs of all production sites are fully incorporated.

The core of this position is to lead end-to-end product’s lifecycle management —from process design, master data setup, maintenance, changes, and eventual retirement/pruning is standardized, integrated across global and regional sites and aligned with ERP capabilities and business strategy.

The role reports to Global Operations Product Lead with a dotted line to the Head of Digital Transformation. The position can either be located out of Denmark or Germany. Up to 15% travel is to be expected across our sites.

This role is strategically critical for driving the next phase of Bavarian Nordic’s enterprise transformation. You will lead the organization through the process adoption phase, ensuring the D2R process integrates seamlessly with other key processes and avoids any gaps. Together with other two fellow process managers—covering Inbound/Outbound and Source‑to‑Pay—you will help steer this next evolution of our transformation journey.

Over the past 18 months, we have progressed from a finance‑focused system to a full ERP platform, established a dedicated Supply Chain organization, and built a cross‑functional Digital Transformation function that connects IT, business operations, and external partners.

Key responsibilities

  • Owning and governing the global Design to Retire process within the ERP transformation, ensuring it is standardized, aligned, and effectively managed across all regions and sites

  • Leading the design of the future D2R process, making sure it reflects industry best practices, supports Microsoft Dynamics ERP capabilities, and integrates site specific requirements

  • Ensuring strong master data governance by defining standards, maintaining data quality, and overseeing product master data, BOM structures, lifecycle statuses, and related attributes across systems

  • Driving and leading the D2R workstream through design, build, testing, and deployment phases, coordinating cross functional teams to ensure high quality project delivery

  • Translating business needs into ERP functionality by collaborating closely with IT, ERP core teams, subject matter experts, and implementation partners

  • Leading change management and adoption efforts, including workshops, training materials, UAT activities, communication, and ensuring the D2R process is embedded successfully across the organization

What you bring
You have a relevant degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or a similar field, giving you a strong foundation for working with complex global processes.

You bring solid experience from ERP transformations or major process‑redesign initiatives and are comfortable leading cross‑functional workstreams. Your profile combines strong project‑management skills with deep understanding of supply chain and end‑to‑end product lifecycle processes, particularly within the pharmaceutical D2R area.

You navigate complexity and change with ease and build strong relationships across the organization. You bring a structured and supportive leadership style, strong stakeholder‑management skills, and a sharp analytical mindset.

You understand the importance of high‑quality master data, data governance, and aligning business needs with ERP system capabilities.

Overall, you offer a blend of product‑lifecycle expertise, hands‑on ERP transformation experience, cross‑functional leadership, and change‑management capability—supported by a background in business, supply chain, or engineering and relevant ERP or project‑management certifications.

Full proficiency in English is required – German and/or French is a plus.

Why this role

This is a unique time to join Bavarian Nordic; as we continue our professionalization of our Supply Chain function, you will – together with the other Process Managers, be the guardian of “how work gets done” across ERP and supply chain — end-to-end, cross-functionally, and at scale.

If you are ready to take on a pivotal role in a growing organization and drive meaningful change in healthcare especially in the vaccine business environment, apply now and join Bavarian Nordic in our mission to improve health outcomes and foster sustainable growth.
