At Bavarian Nordic, we are driven by a clear purpose: to save and improve lives by unlocking the power of the immune system. Our commercial portfolio includes market-leading vaccines protecting against mpox, rabies, tick-borne encephalitis, typhoid fever, cholera, and chikungunya.

With strong capabilities across R&D innovation, manufacturing, and commercialization, we are dedicated to advancing global health and improving quality of life—today and for the future. Join us in making a meaningful impact.

We are currently seeking a candidate for a 12-month position within our LIMS & Release team, at a pivotal time of digital transformation.

Do you want to play a key role in shaping and supporting QC systems during this exciting journey? Are you motivated by structured data, system optimization, and processes that directly support manufacturing operations? If you enjoy working independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams—and thrive with responsibility and ownership—this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

About the Role

We are looking for a LIMS or Release team member to join our Quality Control organization on a two‑year fixed‑term contract. During this period, our existing team will be heavily engaged in the implementation of a new global LIMS platform. To maintain operational continuity, we are seeking a capable professional who can support and backfill daily activities within both LIMS and Release.

In this role, you will help ensure stable QC operations by supporting routine LIMS tasks, contributing to digitalization initiatives, and assisting with the technical release of materials and products.

About the Team

You will join a dedicated and collaborative LIMS & Release team consisting of:

  • 5 LIMS team members responsible for system configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
  • 5 Release team members responsible for the release of all raw materials entering production and the technical QC release of finished products

The team plays a central role in supporting QC laboratories by:

  • building, maintaining, and optimizing LIMS methods and workflows
  • providing user support and resolving system‑related issues
  • ensuring timely release of all raw materials to manufacturing
  • performing the technical QC release of finished products
  • driving digitalization, connectivity, and data‑driven improvements across QC

We value commitment, transparency, and a positive mindset. Even when the workload is high, we prioritize a supportive atmosphere where we help each other succeed.

You will report to the Manager of the LIMS & Release Team, who encourages autonomy, initiative, and independent problem‑solving, supported by a collaborative and empowering leadership style.

Preferred Experience

Experience with SampleManager LIMS is considered a strong advantage, allowing you to quickly contribute to system support, troubleshooting, and method configuration throughout the transition period.

In addition, experience working within a GMP-regulated environment is highly valued, as it enables effective navigation of QC processes, documentation standards, and compliance requirements.

Why join us?

  • Our people, and our ability to work as a team, are essential to delivering continuous high performance, while achieving our growth ambitions. We offer significant growth opportunities for you as an individual
  • Be part of a team that directly contributes to global health by manufacturing and developing life-saving vaccines
