The Nordic Market Access and Tender Manager is responsible for securing and sustaining tender-driven and hospital-level access to Alexion’s rare disease portfolio across the Nordic region, with special focus on, Denmark & Norway.

Reporting to the Nordic Director, National & Key Account Access, the role complements the Director’s leadership of national reimbursement and strategic key account access by taking ownership of national and regional tender execution, local hospital financing pathways, and support the commercial teams implementation of access at priority key accounts.

What you’ll do

You ensure that national reimbursement and procurement decisions result in consistent, timely, and sustainable patient access at hospital and clinic level. The role operates at the interface between national procurement systems and local hospital decision-making, ensuring that access outcomes translate into funded treatment opportunities for individual patients. The position is based in Denmark and follows a 60% office-based / 40% field-based working model.

Key Responsibilities

You will lead Nordic and country-specific tender strategies and manage the full tender cycle. From preparation and submission to clarifications and implementation, serving as the primary point of contact across the Nordics  with a particular focus on Denmark and Norway’s procurement-driven systems. You will translate national reimbursement and tender outcomes into practical local implementation plans, securing funding pathways at priority hospitals and clinics. Addressing budget impact and organizational barriers in close partnership with Commercial, Medical Affairs, HEOR, and Legal.

When standard routes fall short you will coordinate compliant, patient-focused solutions, including individual patient mechanisms and interim funding, acting as a problem solver to mitigate access risks. You will track timelines, procurement reforms, and policy changes, provide structured field insights to inform national strategies, and build strong relationships with procurement bodies, hospital administrators, and local decision-makers. All whilst representing Alexion as a credible and solution-oriented partner on affordability and implementation.

  • Lead tender execution in the Nordics: Drive strategy and end-to-end execution; act as the primary regional contact, especially in Denmark and Norway.

  • Bridge national to local: Turn reimbursement and tender decisions into hospital-level action plans, securing funding pathways and resolving barriers. Supporting local key account access and financing. Solving access barriers that cannot be addressed through national pathways alone.

  • Enable patient access: Coordinate compliant case-by-case solutions and interim funding where standard routes are insufficient.

Essentials

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Market Access, Tenders or Procurement within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Proven understanding of hospital procurement systems and tender-driven access, preferably in Denmark and/or Norway.

  • Solid knowledge of hospital financing, budget impact considerations, and local decision-making pathways.

  • Ability to manage complex, time-critical processes across multiple markets, excels in complex and deadline-driven environments.
