The role

As Manager, Global Medical Affairs Planning & Effectiveness you will play a key part in driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance, and enabling seamless execution of strategic initiatives—from managing external events and vendor relationships to supporting budgeting processes and global collaboration.

The position is based in Copenhagen, and you will report to the Senior Director, Global Medical Affairs Planning & Effectiveness (GMAPE) based in the US.

Your key responsibilities will be

  • Aligns with the GMAPE team to execute overall GMA and ERDMS strategies, championing best practices across all geographies
  • Drives business processes for the Global Medical Affairs team, and ERDMS stakeholders as needed, ensuring timely completion of deliverables
  • Coordinates compliant execution of external events on behalf of Global Medical Affairs, including scientific congresses, advisory board meetings, Advanced Lecture Series
  • Works collaboratively with GMAPE to set Global Medical Affairs department budgets, ensuring alignment with overall annual operating plan
  • Manages vendors, HCPs, and consultants, including creation of purchase orders, execution of contracts, and preparing reports for Finance and Compliance
  • Proactively monitors spend, provides support to Global Medical Affairs teams in completing month-, quarter-, and year-end reporting activities
  • Facilitates Medical Review submission and approval process, coordinating with Global and local country teams for adaptations
  • Manages non-US medical grant and donation requests with support from GMAPE, Legal, and Compliance
  • Handles all administrative tasks (scheduling, meeting logistics, etc) for the Global Medical Affairs team
  • Provides support to the wider Ascendis business with the handling of complex inquiries

 Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • At least five (5) years of practical experience, preferably in project support, analysis, or operations role, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Experience leading teams and projects within a dynamic matrix environment
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, excellent organizational/time management skills 
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.)
  • Ability to travel up to ~30% of time domestically and internationally
