The Role
As Account Manager, you’ll own and grow relationships with key customers within the Technical Specialties segment. You’ll act as their trusted partner—understanding their needs, solving challenges, and uncovering opportunities.
This is a home‑based role with approx. 50% travel, giving you both flexibility and meaningful in‑person customer engagement.
Scope & Impact
- Responsible for core accounts across the Benelux and Nordic regions, with revenue responsibility of approx. €15M
- Direct collaboration with:
- Customers (external)
- Sales, Marketing, Commercial teams
- R&D, Technical Field Service
- Plant leadership and Customer Service teams
Your work directly contributes to revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and development of innovative technical solutions.
What You’ll Do
1. Drive Strategic Account Growth
- Develop account strategies based on market insights and customer needs
- Identify opportunities, trends, and decision-making structures
- Build multi-layered stakeholder relationships
- Lead product development discussions and improvements
- Create and execute clear action plans to deliver growth and profit targets
2. Build Strong Customer Partnerships
- Be the primary face‑to‑face contact for all key assigned accounts
- Maintain deep understanding of customer challenges and priorities
- Resolve issues proactively (quality, service, financial topics)
- Facilitate customer workshops, trials, and problem‑solving sessions
- Coordinate internal resources to ensure seamless support
3. Lead Contracting & Negotiations
- Develop and execute commercial negotiations
- Resolve product, quality, or service-related topics with professionalism
- Ensure long-term, win‑win agreements with customers
4. Forecasting, Reporting & Business Visibility
- Own forecasting and budgeting activities for your accounts
- Deliver accurate monthly reporting on account pipelines and performance
5. Accelerate New Business Development
- Identify and secure new opportunities within existing accounts and beyond
- Upsell and cross-sell across Amcor’s technical product portfolio
- Deliver impactful proposals, presentations, and customer communications
What You Bring
Experience & Background
- 5+ years of experience in sales or account management
- Experience in packaging, pharmaceuticals, or industrial markets preferred
- Fluent English; Dutch and/or German are a strong advantage
Skills & Competencies
- Strong, results‑driven sales mindset with a hunter mentality
- Outstanding negotiation and closing skills
- Excellent relationship‑building and communication abilities
- Analytical, financially literate, and commercially astute
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
