Our purpose is to bring hope to life by enabling life-changing therapies for patients around the globe, creating a healthier and happier tomorrow. Our mission is to work side by side with our customers in order to improve patients’ lives by bringing new biopharmaceuticals to market.

Senior Technician, Mammalian Upstream Manufacturing

At AGC Biologics in Søborg, upstream manufacturing is where science becomes medicine. Every day, our teams work with advanced cell culture processes to produce biologic therapies that support patients around the world.

As a Senior Technician in Upstream Manufacturing, you will play a key role in executing and supporting critical steps in the mammalian cell culture production process. Working in one of Denmark’s most advanced GMP facilities, you will help ensure that complex biologic processes run safely, reliably, and with the highest quality standards.

This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with modern bioreactor systems and cell culture technologies while collaborating with colleagues across manufacturing, science, and quality. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute directly to delivering therapies for international biotech and pharmaceutical partners.

Where Bioprocessing Expertise Meets Daily Operations

Your work will be closely connected to the daily execution of upstream manufacturing activities. You will support the production process from early seed train expansion through inoculation and bioreactor operations, ensuring that cell culture processes run according to approved procedures and quality standards.

A typical week may involve preparing media and process solutions, operating bioreactors, monitoring key process parameters such as pH, temperature, and dissolved oxygen, and documenting production activities in accordance with GMP requirements. You will also contribute to troubleshooting process challenges together with Process Engineering and other support teams.

Beyond running production, you will play an important role in strengthening operational excellence on the shop floor. This includes supporting onboarding of new colleagues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives such as LEAN and 5S, and collaborating with QA, QC, PLE, PE, and Manufacturing Support to maintain high process reliability and compliance.

A Team Built on Knowledge Sharing and Accountability

You will join a highly skilled upstream production team consisting of technicians and scientists who work in a collaborative and data-driven way. Knowledge sharing, ownership, and mutual support are key parts of how the team operates.

The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, but also structured and supportive. Colleagues help each other solve challenges, share expertise across functions, and continuously improve processes and ways of working.

You will work closely with experienced specialists across the organization, giving you exposure to both manufacturing operations and process science while developing your own expertise in upstream cell culture technologies.

What Will Help You Succeed

  • We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a structured, quality-focused production environment and who takes pride in executing complex processes with precision.
  • You likely have a technical background as a Process Operator, Process Technologist, Industrial Operator, or similar, combined with experience from manufacturing environments such as biotech, pharmaceutical, or food production.
  • Experience with upstream processes such as seed train expansion, inoculation, bioreactor operation, or aseptic handling will help you quickly contribute to the team. Just as important, you are someone who collaborates well with colleagues, communicates clearly, and stays calm and structured when production schedules are tight.
  • Since procedures and documentation are handled in English, fluency in written and spoken English is required.
